Its not everyday that you get to say that you have been selected as a Gartner Cool Vendor. But today, for CounterTack, we can! Gartner has selected CounterTack as one of only five featured vendors in the Garnter Cool Vendors for Application and Endpoint Security 2014 report.
This distinguishment comes on the heels of a banner year for CounterTack, as we are experiencing tremendous growth across all areas of the company, spurred by the growing market demand for our flexible, scalable, real-time endpoint threatdetection and response platform, CounterTack Sentinel.
With this selection and the subsequent release of this report, CounterTack has cemented itself as the true leader in the emerging endpoint threat detection and response market. Gartner actually consolidated two security segments - Application and Endpoint Security - into this report, making the field of vendors vying for this title, even smaller.
Gartner's meticulous list of enterprise-class capabilities necessary, and a requirement to present a truly different approach helped set us apart from the competition for how we are disrupting this market. According to Gartner: "...worldwide endpoint protection platform (enterprise) spending will grow at an estimated 2% CAGR (compound annual growth rate) and will reach $3.5B in 2017." (Forecast Overview: Information Security, Worldwide 4Q13 Update)
As this market takes off, the demand for detecting, analyzing and responding to advanced endpoint threats will only increase as the threat landscape becomes more difficult to navigate. The known vs unknown threat matrix will continue to challenge enterprise security teams, meaning Cool Vendors like CounterTack will continue to be called upon to demonstrate their innovation and scale to help defenders leapfrog the attackers.
Specifically from the report: "New application and endpoint security vendors offer innovative and enhanced technologies...Endpoint protection is becoming more sophisticated and targeted at common problem areas of security. For chief information security officers (CISOs) and security teams tasked with protecting Windows environments, endpoints now have a potential monitoring solution that drills down into the malware's chain of events."
We're thrilled about this achievement, and even more excited to continue to help our customers solve some of their biggest security challenges with respect to countering malicious insiders, persistent attackers and advanced and unknown malware.
