WALTHAM, Mass. (July 23, 2013) – CounterTack, the industry’s first and only in-progress attack intelligence and response solution provider, today announced that two of its top executives and security industry thought leaders will have a strong presence at Black Hat USA 2013’s “Day of Disclosure” discussion sponsored by Cylance, on Wednesday, July 31, 2013.
At this year’s Black Hat conference, CounterTack Board Chairman Admiral William J. Fallon will share his perspectives during a panel titled Cyber-Information Sharing and Inter-Governmental Cyber Relationships. A retired four-star Admiral with a distinguished 40-year career of military and strategic leadership, Admiral Fallon will be joined by government leaders from the FBI and Department of Homeland Security, along with CounterTack board member and Cylance CEO and president, Stuart McClure, to debate the merits of inter-governmental cyber information sharing. A particular emphasis will be placed on government ownership and which entities should own responsibility for national cyber security, as well as the role of the private sector in effective information sharing. This presentation will take place at 10:00 a.m. in Caesars Palace Conference Center, Promenade South, Pisa Room.
CounterTack will also sponsor an exclusive book signing event featuring the company’s chief researcher, Sean Bodmer, who will share in-depth counterintelligence tactics to fight cyber espionage from his book, Reverse Deception: Organized Cyber Threat Counter-Exploitation. Participants will receive a free, autographed copy, which outlines how to set up digital traps, misdirect and divert attackers, configure honeypots, mitigate encrypted crimeware and identify malicious software groups. As a former underground hacker turned grey hat researcher who has led intrusion analysis initiatives for the U.S. Department of Defense and other Federal agencies for more than a decade, Bodmer has a unique perspective on today’s most advanced attackers.
Bodmer will be joined by fellow acclaimed author Stuart McClure, who will showcase his latest book, Hacking Exposed: Network Security Secrets & Solutions, which has been translated into more than 30 languages. The book signing will be held in the Caesars Palace Conference Center, Promenade South, Pisa Room at 5:00 p.m.
